My lovely wife Becky bought me a Kindle for Christmas. Many of the older Christian works are available for free or very cheap, so I've done quite a bit of reading lately (Jan 2014)
The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis - a fantastic book on humility and self-awareness
Heretics by G. K. Chesterton - if you are not a heretic, you are likely not embracing God.
The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence - this in my top-10 books of all time on the faith.
The Set of the Sail. A. W. Tozer discusses various topics on commitment to God and becoming like him. I have tried to read everything this man has ever written. (Sep 2013)
He is There, and He is Not Silent. Francis Schaeffer's book on thinking about how God has revealed himself. (June 2013)
The Great Divorce. C.S. Lewis' allegorical story about Heaven, Hell, and choosing between them. (April 2013)
A Grief Observed. C.S. Lewis writes about his experience of losing his wife. (February 2013)
Love Wins. Rob Bell's somewhat controversial book about what it takes to be saved. The questions about hell have made many people in the evangelical world unhappy. I think Rob is asking questions, more than providing answers, in his rabbinical style. (Dec 2012)
Come Be My Light. It's a book that goes through Mother Teresa's own spiritual journey, including many years of feeling alone and abandoned by God. It's an excellent read, but I had to take my time going through it. (Dec 2012)
